|The Willie & Vivian Gaddis Foundation for K.I.D.S. (Kids Inspired and Destined for Success) was inspired by the lives of Willie and Vivian Gaddis. Randal L. Gaddis I and Alethea E. Gaddis wanted to establish an organization that would serve the greater good of the Columbus community. The intent was and is to empower and equip others to discover and pursue their purpose. The Gaddis’ exposed Alethea, Randal and their siblings Sylvia and Debra (deceased) to experiences that would broaden their horizon and build character. The Gaddis children were engaged in music lessons, sports and other activities. The tradition continued with Randal and his wife Elizabeth as they raised their sons Randal II, Curtis, Matthew and Westley. Randal graduated from Wright State University, and the triplets from Anderson University, The Ohio State University and Kent State University. These young men have married and now they and their wives continue the legacy with their young children. As a family we embrace the value of varied experiences in the healthy development of children and youth. Initially the idea for the foundation was to provide scholarships for children so they could discover their purpose by participating in actives such as music, art, drama and creative writing instruction. The mission later expanded by incorporating college access programming. Alethea is passionate about encouraging young people to discover the value of post-secondary education opportunities through early awareness.|
To invest in children and youth; equipping them with skills and resources to discover and intentionally live out their purpose.
